So, Santorum’s argument is that because intolerance towards gays has been accepted for 2000 years, criticizing that is bigotry. So, I guess by his logic it was anti American to condemn racism against blacks since itw as accepted for much of our history too. Seriously, Rick, just give it up. People are gay and were gay before you, are gay now, and going to be gay after you and I are gone.

Rebelling against the King of England was treason because he had been accepted as the king of all British subjects for generations before the Revolutionary War!

You KNOW these people would have argued just that.

Why do I get the feeling that what the GOP/TP really want is just like the Church of England and Spanish Inquisition had going? A chosen select few to dole out the doctrines we should all follow, with them in power of course. That, and Rick is a hypocrite and liar and tool. Oh, and a putz too.

So, according to Rick’s logic, any criticism of the Ku Klux Klan is bigoted and racist, because historically oppression of African-Americans was socially and legally acceptable.

Riiiight.

Thanks. My brain’s in a knot now over this impressive feat of pretzel logic. I’ll bet the same argument was heard over pretty much every incarnation of the miscegenation debate.

So what is bigots don’t like being called bigots? Fat people don’t like being called fat and short people don’t like being called short. It doesn’t mean that aren’t.

(To the tune of Yesterday)

Bigotry
The definition isn’t so easy
If it’s really bad to you or me
Then you’re bigoted ‘gainst bigotry

It’s an Ourobouros
You can’t win or even place
Saying no to something abhorrent
Means you’re a hypocrite to its face

Remarkably
Santorum doesn’t have difficulty
Untroubled by cries of duplicity
He claims “It’s bad for you, fine for me.”

Oh he believes in bigotry
Not for him but for you and me…
